Spetses

Not by chance known as an heroic island, Spetses was birthplace and home to many of the illustrious captains of the revolution of 1821, female admiral Laskarina Bouboulina among them. Today, Spetses is a very popular tourist destination for travellers and adventurers from all over the world.

A jewel in the Saronic Gulf, Spetses was named by the Venetians who passed through, “isola di spezzie”, or fragrant isle. It remains a lush, fragrant place where the trees cast their shadows into the sea, where fishermen once cast their nets.

Through our blog, we would like to introduce you to our island: its celebrated history, crystal waters, and above all the traditional colour of the beautiful town of Spetses.
