The island of Spetses with its rich history and seafaring traditions plays host to the Spetses Mini Marathon for the 6th consecutive year. This year's events take place from 7th to 9th October. With the island's policy prohibiting the use of private cars, it is the ideal location for this great sporting event!
Each September, this spectacular event brings the scent of Revolution to the island of Spetses. Thousands of visitors flock to the island to witness the re-enactment of the Battle of Spetses in September 1822, known as Armata.
The Museum of Spetses is housed in the mansion of Hatziyiannis- Mexis, one of the great leaders in the years of struggle during the battle for independence from the Ottoman Empire.
This glittering event, now in its sixth consecutive year, took place over the long weekend of June 30th to July 3rd. Over 70 vessels participated this year, watched by crowds of visitors.
The beach of Ayioi Anargyri is the largest on Spetses. Beautifully pebbly but with a sandy seabed, the beach is well organised with beds, umbrellas and water sports, but at the same time manages to retain a calm atmosphere
Located near the beach of Ayios Anargyros, Bekiri's Cave is a unique spot of natural beauty. It has been used many times during the island's history as a place of refuge, most notably during the 1821 War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire, and again during the Nazi occupation of WWII.
